Painted Light Switch and Outlet Covers

I bought unfinished wood light switch and outlet covers.  Painted them white.  Then used a stencil from Hobby Lobby and painted it turquoise.  I also painted the screws to match. Easy and cute way to add a touch of uniqueness to my living room.

Better Homes and Gardens Flip Tite Containers

Loving these new storage containers from Better Homes and Gardens.  You can buy each one for about $5.  They keep food organized and fresh.  They are easy to open for kids but stay air tight.  I plan on buying twice as many as I already have because I just like them so much.

Hanging Organizer

Simple storage solution for all my hair products.

I bought a hanging shoe organizer at Walmart.  It cost about $7.

Then I hung it from the door in my dressing room and filled it with lots of hair styling products. Very easy storage solution that saves shelf space. Also because the holder is clear I can easily see everything I have in it.

DIY Oatmeal Bath

My daughter has eczema and takes oatmeal baths. The oatmeal bath I used to buy cost about $6 and had 5 packets in it.  That's $1.25 a bath.  Too much for my pocketbook.  So I decided to make my own.

I used the Walmart brand of oats.

All you need is to blend it for a long time so that there are no big pieces in it.  You want it to be powdery.

I store the oatmeal in a mason jar.  I use 1/4 cup in my daughter's bath.

DIY Dog Bed

I made this cute dog bed for my teacup Maltese named Percy.

I bought an old TV that was mounted in a stand.  I took out the TV.  Be careful doing this.

I used a paint to prime it.

This is what it looked like after priming it.

I painted it turquoise. I also used fabric to cover the back of the inside. I used the same fabric to cover the holes left behind in the front from taking out the speaker and button panel. I also used a cushion I bought from Hobby Lobby and covered it in a different pattern fabric to be used as a bed. Although the pictures don't show it I ended up buying white knobs for the bottom of the stand to replace the ugly knobs that used to be on it.

I LOVE MY PERCY!!

And of course Percy doesn't use the dog bed but I like the stand and it holds all his toys so it is still in my living room.
